Welcome to the Texas Council of Professors of Educational Administration website. As you “surf” through this site, I hope you consider joining the organization and being an active participant in the promotion of educational leadership. TCPEA is an organization of active educational leaders who engage in many activities that serve to promote the profession. I’d like to highlight three aspects of membership:
1. While the organization invites members from across the scope of public and private education, a key focus is addressing the needs of higher education professors of educational leadership or educational administration. To that end, leadership in the organization constantly seeks opportunities to enable professors to become better instructors, successful scholars, and more effective advocates for educational leadership.
2. Second, a very clear objective of the organization is the encouragement and dissemination of meaningful educational research. TCPEA sponsors two publications, School Leadership Review and the TCPEA Yearbook, as evidence of this mission. Not only do the publications provide venues for publication and dissemination of scholarly manuscripts, but they also provide an avenue for service and professional growth through utilization of a robust peer-review process that invites participation.
3. TCPEA fosters positive relationships with state and national organizations. As an affiliate of the International Council of Professors of Educational Leadership (ICPEL), the organization is invested in both national and international issues in educational leadership. Additionally, TCPEA is associated with the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA), sharing web and administrative personnel. Finally, the organization seeks to work in concert with the Texas Education Agency and other state agencies to play a role in effectively informing and guiding meaningful, evidence-based practices that positively impact education in Texas.
Again, I invite you to join TCPEA and connect with the many members who share common goals through the networking, collaboration, and professional learning in which we engage.
If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, John Decman, Ed. D. Executive Director
